Potty time?

The other day, this innocent looking little boy took off his diaper and pooped on the floor. It was pretty funny, mostly because it wasn't messy, but I think it's time to work on this potty training business. He refuses to sit on the potty most of the time, but yesterday I let him run around diaper-less in the backyard until he peed on himself. He seemed pretty concerned about it and was all about sitting on the potty--for a little bit. I don't see this going well, but I figure if he knows when he has to go, it's worth a try, right? Wish us luck.

Yeah, good luck. Potty training is definitely something I could skip as a parent, especially with boys!

I would recommend leaving his diaper off as much as possible. I can be a little messy at first, but it has worked great for us. Levi wears a diaper when we're out and about, but at home, he pees and poops exclusively on his potty chair. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast he caught on.

We JUST had a conversation yesterday about this: how kids are easier to train than pets cause at least kids don't poop and pee on your floor...whoops. My mom used to give me 5 chocolate chips every time I used the potty. I've heard that cheerios in the toilet are a good way to teach boys to aim...but I have no idea what age you start that at. Good luck!

My neighbor said she had luck once she put one of thse targets that float on the water in the toilet. You know like one of those rifle targets. Apparantly sold at kid stores. Her son was always running to the toilet to see if he could hit the target. Aunt Joy
